What equipment do I need for the Calixpert programs?

Last updated: 11 April 2026

The good news is that you do not need a fully equipped gym to get started with Calixpert. Most of our programs are built around two pieces of equipment: a pull-up bar and a set of resistance bands. If you have those two things, you can follow the majority of our training plans from home.

A pull-up bar is the single most important piece of equipment you can own. It does not need to be a freestanding rig. A doorframe pull-up bar works perfectly well and costs very little. Resistance bands are used for assisted progressions and mobility work, so having a few different strengths gives you the most flexibility as you progress.

Dip bars or parallettes are helpful for certain pushing exercises and for working on L-sit and handstand progressions. They are not required to start, but if you plan to stay with the programs long-term, they are a worthwhile investment. We always include floor-based alternatives for the exercises that typically use them.

Gymnastic rings only come into play in our more advanced programs. If you are just starting out or working through an intermediate plan, you do not need rings yet.

If you are missing a specific piece of equipment, do not let that stop you. Post in the community and either Daniel or Malin will give you a modification that fits what you have at home. Start with what you have.
